The Library has two stereo audience recordings.
The first is a very nice MiniDisc recording, compromised only by a couple of rough edits. The first; between Love Sick and Highway 61 Revisited, cutting into Mr. Dylan's introduction of band members and a good bit of the first verse of Highway 61 Revisited; the second (nondestructive) falls between Highway 61 Revisited and Like A Rolling Stone. Otherwise, clean, complete, crisp, and problem free. Thanks, Chris! Dubbed 03/17/99. 110 min. Request 9902241.
The second is an outstanding recording. Sadly, it is plagued with destructive edits throughout. The edits are so heavy handed that the first and last second or two of nearly every song is clipped. There's a bit of volume fluctuation during Gotta Serve Somebody. Maggie's Farm suffers from a very brief dropout as does Girl Of The North Country (it was split between side A and B on the source tape). I have smoothed the rough edits by fading out and fading in and closed both dropouts. Though a modest improvement over the choppiness of the source tape, the result is an overly fast paced listen. All for the sake of squeezing 105 minutes on to a ninety minute tape. The irony is that there was nearly seven minutes to spare on the B side of the tape. Mike, who provided the tape, wrote: 'Got this tape from an "old" Deadhead friend." Thanks, Mike! Dubbed 11/13/99. 90 min. Request 9902242.
