A rather rough audience recording, compromised by a very ragged start; a dropout; a destructive edit; and a couple of digital skips. There's considerable fluctuation in tape speed (wow and flutter) and volume at the outset (I Am The Man, Thomas and into To Ramona). Though the wow and flutter settles down by the time Desolation Row rolls around, volume fluctuation remains an issue through out the recording. There's a dropout (closed on Library Masters) about four minutes into Tangled Up In Blue. The destructive edit falls between Tangled Up In Blue and All Along The Watchtower, clipping the last second or two of the former. Much of Not Fade Away is missing. A severe digital skip rears its ugly head about two minutes into Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues. Another, not nearly so bad, occurs about two minutes into Blowin' In The Wind. The recording is, for the most part, quite hot (recording levels too high) and occasional distortion should be expected. Levels, on the source CD-R, plummet abruptly after Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues recovering only after Tears Of Rage. Thanks, Bernie! Dubbed 02/17/99. 100 min. Request 9911061.
